Interpretation Service to Register Permanent Residence or Adjustment of Status Interviews (I-485 USCIS)

ABC Productions interpretation service for Adjustment of Status (Form I-485) interviews with USCIS is designed to be a pillar of support during one of the most critical steps toward permanent residency. We understand that this interview is the culmination of a long process, and our service focuses on guaranteeing fluid, accurate communication with the necessary sensitivity for this setting.Professionalism and Rigor in Interpretation

  • Seamless Accuracy: Our interpreters are certified professionals with extensive experience in immigration terminology and legal procedures. We ensure the complete fidelity of every question and answer, without adding, omitting, or altering the original meaning of your testimony.

  • I-485 Process Knowledge: We are familiar with the various types of Adjustment of Status cases (family-based, employment-based, asylum-based, etc.) and the specific questions often posed by USCIS officers, allowing for more contextually relevant interpretation.

  • Neutrality and Oath: The interpreter will maintain strict neutrality, translating in the first-person grammatical voice so that your voice is heard directly by the officer. Our professional will sign the oath before USCIS, committing to a code of ethics and truthfulness.

Commitment to Peace of Mind and Empathy

  • Stress Reduction: We recognize the importance and tension of the interview. Our empathetic approach, the same one that has been praised by clients for its "human quality" and ability to provide "peace of mind," aims to reduce anxiety by ensuring the language barrier is not a concern.

  • Guaranteed Confidentiality: All information shared during preparation and the interview is handled with the utmost confidentiality.

  • Practical Guidance: In addition to the interpretation, our clients receive guidance on communication best practices for the interview. This includes the importance of:

    • Speaking clearly and pausing appropriately for interpretation.

    • Keeping the focus on the question asked.

    • Feeling free to ask for clarification if you do not understand something.

With abc Productions, you gain a partner who ensures your testimony is presented flawlessly, allowing you to focus on the crucial content of your Adjustment of Status application.

Based on the professional standards, for a full-day assignment, a team of at least two interpreters is typically required for consecutive interpreting. The guidelines are based on maintaining the highest quality and protecting the interpreter's health, as interpreting is cognitively demanding. Here are the key points from the  professional standards for consecutive interpreting:

  • For assignments involving two languages (interpreting in both directions), the minimum number of interpreters recommended is two.

  • While a single interpreter may be sufficient for shorter sessions or under exceptional circumstances, for a full-day assignment, two interpreters are generally needed to ensure sustained accuracy and maintain stamina.

  • A single interpreter may cover assignments up to two (2) hours. Assignments exceeding two hours require a two-person tandem team to prevent cognitive fatigue and ensure accuracy.

  • The normal duration of an interpreter's working day is limited to two sessions of between 2.5 and 3 hours each (a maximum of approximately 6 hours of work). A full-day assignment exceeding this duration would therefore necessitate a team to allow for breaks and rotation.

  • Clients are kindly requested to provide all relevant preparation materials at least three business days prior to the start of the assignment.

  • These materials enable interpreters to study and prepare thoroughly for your project.

  • If necessary, a confidentiality agreement (NDA) can be signed.

  • If no materials, presentation decks, or specific information are provided, abc Productions cannot guarantee the quality of the rendition.

We value your time as much as we value ours. Once a service is confirmed, the interpreter reserves the necessary time for your case, including essential prior preparation. By booking our services, you reserve a dedicated slot in our calendar that immediately becomes unavailable to other clients.
